The video shows the launch or slip of the Odin 820 from it's trailer. I'm furtunate to be able to keep my boat on the trailer with the mast stepped in my marina, which means that the whole thing can be done in just about the length of the video ie apox. 10 minutes or so.
One of the comprimizes here is between drowning the trailer totally in the seawater or not. If not the launch and retrieving is quite tought on the hull of the boat, if drowned the wheel bearings, brakes and axes are exposed to salt water, but the slip is effortless. As can be seen I opted for the latter. After each slip I quickly rinse with fresh water. After five seasons (the boat is bought second hand in 2008 and was launched in England in 2004) i had the shop change wheel bearings, breaks evt. the cost was around eur700.
